The 'Accident' Awakening

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond still wasn't feeling quite herself. Speaking to Colton had helped, even though it was a simulation? Well, she was able to forget that most of the time. Sadie had assured her that he wasn't gone, and she trusted her mother, so she'd go with it. Even if it sounded weird to give commands to spark a normal conversation. The hospital was quiet, so a jaunt across town had landed her in NACO. She had every intention of venturing to her mother's office to dink around, but was intrigued by the third floor of curiosities instead. It was keypad access, and she'd never tried before. Toying with different numerical combinations, much to her surprise, the door opened on the third attempt. Stasis chambers. Of course, Rach looked for Nate. And for Colton. She saw neither of their faces. In fact, there was only one in this particular ward. Unfamiliar at first glance, Rach would approach the glass. "Well.. what are you in for?" she murmurs in Gaelic, quickly translated into English by the Siri-style voice of Mr. Squaddles. Resting one hand on the outside, she'd just.. watch for a moment. Even though she'd been frozen twice, she'd never spent much time near the actual chambers. Awake, anyway.

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski was in the chambers for what seventy something years. She was still a frozen person, so not much she could do plus she was asleep. So, even if a question was directed to her she had no idea. She just sat their frozen like she wanted some years ago back in Hathian.

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond hadn't expected much in the way of response, so she took a moment to examine the chamber itself. Thick, sturdy glass. This one was red instead of blue. Which was a shame, because she preferred blue slushies. Jaykay. Moving to the side of the chamber, her little robot's metallic steps trailing along beside her, she would brush a finger along the holograms displayed. Many she recognized from MDH. Vital signs and detailed analysis of the human life form. Even a detailing of what particular type of fluid was being used to sustain the girl. Fascinating, really. While she was reading, Rach felt an itch from within the fur lining of her boot. Her hand would fall flat against the side of the chamber. Grace had never been her middle name, so after a few seconds, Rach's balance would slip. Grappling, trying to keep herself upright, her fingers would press at the keyboard below the holograms. Somehow, she pushed in a certain key sequence, and a suction noise filled the air. Whooooooosh. Imagine when your washing machine begins draining after the rinse cycle. Looking at the screen, Rach sees one word flashing in red text. Draining. Below that in black. Sequence initiated. Her eyes go wide and for now she just watches, unable to process exactly WHAT had just happened. Rut ro, Raggy.

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski hopes Rach pressed a good sequence or rut ro raggy would be correct. She didn't know what was going on yet because the draining started from the bottom but the draining was really slow. After all, the solution was similar to ice to keep the body at the proper temperature to preserve it but at anyrate it sped it up as the wooshing filled the chamber getting the liquid out. Taylor would drop to bottom of the chamber still completely unaware of anyone near her. She couldn't do much about that fact.

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond shook her head rapidly, as though that would make this situation any less real. All too soon, the liquid was all drained away, and the vacu-seal around the door would come free with a hiss. "Sequence complete," reads the robotic voice within the machine, as the door begins to slide to the right. Apparently, there was no undo button. No free refills either. As it had in a moment of great stress before, Rach's English words came freely as her head pounded. "Shit.. God damn it! FUCK! Fuckfuckfuckfuck!" Great words, Rach. Oxygen needed to a thing so she'd rush forward, hooking her hands under Taylor's arms, and dragging her toward the next room, to lay her on one of the beds nearby. Once an oxygen mask was placed over her face and she was covered in blankets (because slushie) Rach would pull out her phone and send a frantic DM. Her eyes were virtually flashing rainbows right now. She was intrigued, scared. Interested, upset. Annoyed and curious. Squaddles just hovered by her feet, unable to detect these emotions or process them. Because robot.

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski gets dragged into the next room with Rach. Luckily for Rach. Taylor had struggled with anorexia for a long time, so her body weight wasn't exactly where it was supposed to be for her height. However, she was breathing but completely unaware of her surroundings. She had hypothermia which is normal for someone who was froze. Taylor laid their on the bed and soon would start to warm-up. She hopefully was okay when she came through but N.A.C.O. had even taken a chance with a cryogenic frozen schizophrenic but lets hope it turned out okay as the oxygen helped clear Taylor's mind.

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond got no reply to her message and began freaking out even MORE. Granted, she'd not encountered anyone immediately post-popsicle, even though she'd been through the process herself multiple times. And she WAS learning things, however unconventionally. The beds were identical to the ones in her recovery ward, so she'd fiddle at the head with buttons to adjust settings, such as air flow, even heat (which she had NO idea these beds did. Score!) She chews at her lower lip, pacing back and forth as she waits for some sign of life from the girl, though who knew what she'd get. Everyone came out of cryostasis differently. Here's hoping Rach survives. :|

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski felt the warmth of the bed start on her back for some reason that's where she got feeling the fastest. It sort of freaked Taylor's body out but she couldn't move, yet. Her brain wasn't ready to wake up quite yet. The warmth moved up her body spreading to each part of her limbs. She finally started moving one of her hands. Although, her eyes hadn't open yet. It probably would freak her out because Taylor was in the cryo for a long time. Her thoughts started to process that there was warmth wherever she was placed. She felt some sort of padding underneath her. Hospital padding for a stretcher? It didn't feel quite the same. She started feeling the oxygen on her face. At least her brain registered that she wasn't in Heaven at least or that would've ended odd. She still wasn't quite ready to open her eyes. Her brain still processing the oxygen to completely stir her. Her breathing finally sped up almost to a normal rate. What was she doing on something that felt like a hospital bed, oxygen mask, and heat? It made no sense to Taylor's brain. Her breath quicken as her eyes fluttered opened, not saying a word yet.

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond wasn't quite hyperventilating, but it was a near thing. It's a good thing hospital beds had grown more comfortable in the past 70 years. Rach had never wished she could speak English more in her life. Nor had she wished that her mother would answer her DM. No matter how much trouble she was in, she knew that mom could handle this. Typical Sadie-to-Rach relationship. For now, she'd just continue fussing at the girl's bed. Moving blankets and re-placing the oxygen mask. There was something...familiar...about her. But it had been 70 years and two freezes. Give Rach a minute. At present, Taylor was simply a patient in her care, one which she would try to make the transition, which usually came with sedatives and happy pills, and time to become aware and accept the truth, as painless as possible. Let's face it though. She was so grounded.

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski looks around quickly seeing that it was some sort of ward. She allowed the woman put the mask back on her. Taylor was probably good at knocking it around. She pushed back with her feet trying to move but it worked only on the blankets. The blankets being kicked back down. Poor Rach. She had just replaced them. She looked over and saw Medi on the other bed but that's it. Her eyes went wide and Taylor let out a squeal of fear. Taylor hated hospital almost her whole life what would make this any different. She moved over a little bit watch the woman with fear in her eyes. She couldn't get words out just squeals of that sound ed like she was trying to say something, every once in awhile. Taylor shouldn't have read Medi. She was a little bit more scared now. She looked the woman over and something felt familiar with her but what?

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond huffed slightly when the blankets went flying, and tried to replace them.. again. She saw the fear in her eyes, and Rach would instinctively move one hand to her forehead. The words come in Gaelic, a low, soothing murmur, which was instantly translated by Squaddles. "You are safe, you are well. Do you know where you are?" A better question might have been -do you know what year it is- But.. One step at a time, aye?

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski saw the blankets being replaced which this time she didn't fight it. She finally figured the woman was trying to help her or that's what her brain registered it as. She saw the woman move the hand to her forehead but let out a squeal again but once Rach had her hand their, she almost settled. It felt familiar. She watched the woman murmur something that sounded foreign. Taylor almost instantly tilted her head intrigued. She then heard the siri voice from the said Squaddles. She jumped at the voice because she couldn't see Squaddles. She shook her head in direction of no. She pointed to the wall. "M...e...d...i..." She let out in a slow squeaky voice that had the slight German accent that was still there. It took her a moment to understand that it meant medical but when it clicked, she cleared her throat and said, "Medical Bay?" The german accent still there.

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond's multicolored eyes danced over Taylor's features. Disorientation was normal, but her optic reaction and use of speech was normal. Better than Rach's even, damn it all. She nods her head in approval of the response. She whispers for Squaddles. "Correct. You are in a healing center. It is normal to feel confused. What is the last thing you remember?" the Siri-voice inquires in a pleasant, yet detached way. The last question was for Rach's own curiosity. She had no idea how she'd died until she met Caspian weeks later, and even now had no clear memory of it. She tries to slip one hand into Taylors, and murmurs out, "Can you squeeze my hand?" for Squaddles to translate. So far, so good.

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski was lucky she knew what /medi/ stood for about the only thing she does at the moment. Tec was confusing the crap out of her though. What Era was this? Yep. Taylor looked at her confused but still had fear in her eyes. Healing Center? She was confused officially. She ragged her brain to think what the last thing she remember hearing Squaddles voice again. "Uh. Being on a street..." She gave a confused look. She didn't quite remember it. She watched her try to slip her hand into hers and gave a squeeze with the strength she had which at this time was not completely there but was working on it.

Rachell 'Phoenix' Vond hated the translation she had to go through, she really did. She KNEW the word she wanted was hospital, but there was no word for that in Gaelic. All of this would be explained in time, but for now, the last thing she wanted to do was overload Taylor's brain. It was still slightly frozen after all. "In time, you will remember. But for now, you should rest. I will look after you soon," Squaddles would relay. The squeeze given was comforting, not at all unexpected that it wasn't at full strength. A drone flies by then, and offers a whiff of sedative to Taylor. Yeah hey, it comes in mist form now. Cool stuff, right? Once the girl was out, Rach would back out out out of the lab, down into the street, and promptly hyperventilate. Or throw up. Or pass out. or something. Sweet baby Jesus, what had she just done?!

Taylor 'TayTay' Metalski nods towards her not saying a word because she didn't have a word for it yet. She gave a smile towards her nodding. She looks at the drone which sprayed something in the air near her and she breathes it in. She quickly fell asleep.
